I. Educational Objectives

This program is intended to train senior engineering and technical specialists who are equipped with basic knowledge of engineering technology and other professional knowledge in the domains of electrotechology, electronic technique, theory of control, automatic measure technology and meter, electronic and computer technology, information processing, business management and decision-making so as to be competent to undertake works involving system analysis, system design, system operation, technology development and research.

II. Education Requirements

Students of this major are required to master basic theoretical knowledge of electrotechnics, electronic technique, theory of control, power electronics, motor and electric traction, motion control, automatic measure technology and meter, computer control and application as well as network technique, accepting better engineering practice training so as to be equipped with fundamental abilities of system analyzing, designing, developing and researching.

Upon graduation, students are expect

1. to build up a solid foundation of the knowledge about natural science, humanities and social sciences, and to be able to use a foreign language with ease;

2. to have a good command of wide range of knowledge and fundamental theories of electrical engineering and automation, including circuit theory, technology of electronics, theory of control,  motor and electric tractioncomputer software and hardware design and its application and etc..

3. to have a good grasp of knowledge involving motion control, industrial process control, automation instrument, power electronic technology and application, to acquire professional knowledges and skills in one or two specialty directions,to learn about the theoretical current issues and the trend in this specilty;

4. to accept better engineering practice training in the field of system analysis, system design and system development;

5. to be equipped with fundamental abilities of scientific research, development and administration,flexible at work;

IV. Curriculum and Credit Distribution

1. General Education Courses (54 credits)

Requirements: 44 credits for compulsory courses;10 credits for elective courses 

2.Basic Disciplinary Courses (41.5 credits)

Requirements: the total of 41.5 credits for basic courses in the Discipline.

3. Specialty-Oriented Courses(55.5 credits)

Requirements: 42.5 credits for compulsory specialty-oriented courses; 13 credits for elective specialty-oriented courses.

4. Optional Courses(6 credits)

Requirements: 6 credits.

5. Second Class(Extracurricular Activities)(3 credits)
